During lift transport of chemicals, pressure cylinders, liquefied gases (nitrogen, helium), and dry ice must never be accompanied by persons
- Pressure cylinders may only be transported on trolleys made for the purpose, and only two cylinders at a time. Protective valve caps or fixed safety bars must be fitted on the cylinders before transportation. Do not transport pressure cylinders with mounted reduction valves!
Limited quantities of chemicals may be accompanied in lifts by persons, provided the following general requirements are met:
- Transport must always be carried out with due consideration to safety under all circumstances, for example, would danger be involved if the lift gets stuck?
- Chemicals must always be transported in sealed packaging on a cart
If in doubt, use the lift function “Specialkørsel” (an override feature for unaccompanied transport)
How to use the “Specialkørsel” (override) function
Unaccompanied transport, “Specialkørsel”, can be performed by anyone whose UCPH id-card is activated for this particular feature
- Place the goods in the lift
- Pass your id-card over the reader three times => The “Specialkørsel” button will light up
- Send the lift to the destination loor. The lift cannot be called to any other floor, and will not run any further once it has arrived.
- Persons must use the second lift or take the stairs
- On the destination floor, remove the goods from the lift
- Release the lift: Pass your id-card three times over the reader => the “Specialkørsel” button is witched off
